the SEA, the WIND
and the MEMORY of an ANCIENT VILLAGE
of FISHERMEN
There is an ancient soul that inhabits Baia L’Aura. A soul made of sea, wind, salt, and stories whispered by the waves. Once, there stood here a small fishing village, an authentic refuge where life followed the breath of the sea and dawn painted the drying nets in gold.
Today, that same magic still lives within these walls, on the terraces overlooking the horizon, and in the scent of the sea that envelops every corner of the house. Located in Ispica, among the beaches of Porto Ulisse, in the south of Sicily, the villa stands in a unique place where the Mediterranean Sea and the Ionian Sea meet in an endless embrace.
Here, nature is still wild. Golden beaches alternate with cliffs shaped by the wind, and the sky is reflected in crystal-clear waters.
Baia L’Aura is not just a villa: it is a place where the past meets the present, where the sea tells ancient stories and the wind carries the memory of a timeless Sicily.

Baia L’Aura consists of four ancient fishermen's cottages, independent and scattered within a lush Mediterranean garden, carefully restored to offer an authentic and refined hospitality. Each house radiates a light and relaxing summer atmosphere, and together they form a small private village by the sea, ideal for groups of friends or large families wishing to share a special experience. The main house, located closest to the sea, hosts the villa's common areas. Here you will find: a large and bright open-space area with transparent walls (one of which can be opened for direct access), a breathtaking sea view, white wooden floors, light cotton curtains moved by the sea breeze, a fully equipped kitchen, and a spacious dining area. Next to the kitchen, a door leads to a cozy living room and TV area, tastefully furnished and enriched with stunning sea views, with direct access to a shaded terrace. The space also includes a comfortable sofa and a shared bathroom available to guests in the living area. From here, you can access the first bedroom, a double with private bathroom (shower), sea view, and access to the private terrace. The second cottage features two mirrored double bedrooms, each with an independent entrance and overlooking a shaded terrace divided into several areas. Each room offers a charming view of the Mediterranean garden, a partially integrated shower in the room, and a private toilet. The third and fourth cottages also house double bedrooms with access to shaded terraces. One bedroom has a private bathroom with shower, while the other includes a bathtub within the room and a private toilet. Between these rooms, there is a beautiful outdoor hot shower, created in the most authentic Sicilian style and enhanced by a breathtaking coastal view.
Note: Although the property offers 5 double bedrooms, the maximum allowed occupancy is 8 people (including children).
Life at Baia L’Aura takes place outdoors, among spaces designed for relaxation, conviviality, and leisure. The buildings are immersed in a Mediterranean garden with green lawns and flower beds, connected by wooden walkways, stone paths, and old cobbled terraces. Each cottage has its own whitewashed wooden terrace, furnished with shaded lounge areas, offering guests both private moments and shared spaces. The heart of the property is the large sea-view terrace, from which you can admire the transparent waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Here you will find relaxation areas, spaces for outdoor dining, and panoramic corners perfect for contemplating the sea. A path leads to a gate that opens onto a stone terrace by the water, where a shaded pergola with sun loungers invites you to relax between swims, in total tranquility.

Although the villa has 5 bedrooms, the recommended maximum occupancy is 8 guests (including children aged 10 and over).
For safety reasons, the property is not suitable for children under the age of 10.
Located in a protected area, local regulations require the preservation of traditional architecture, and therefore safety barriers cannot be installed. The terraces are bordered by original dry stone walls, between 50 and 80 cm high, without protective railings. In some spots, beyond the walls, there are significant drops that, if crossed improperly, could lead to falls of several meters down to the sea platform. For this reason, maximum supervision of children and caution by adults is strongly advised. The property warns guests of these structural features so that they are taken into account before booking.
The retractable walls in the living area may only be opened and closed by the villa staff, who are available twice a day for this operation.
Access to the sea is via rocks and may be difficult when the sea is rough.
€350.00 payable on site upon arrival: contribution to final cleaning costs of the villa.
Minimum stay of 4 nights. Baia L’Aura is always rented as a whole property, not by room, ensuring exclusive use of the villa and its amenities. The villa will be exclusively reserved for the confirmed number of guests and bedrooms.
Baia L’Aura is located in the far south of Sicily, specifically in Ispica, on the beautiful beaches of Porto Ulisse. The town of Ispica is a gem situated on a promontory overlooking the sea, where history and nature intertwine among monumental churches and the evocative Cava d’Ispica. Its timeless charm also captivated Luchino Visconti, who in 1963 chose its elegant Loggiato del Sinatra as the backdrop for scenes from Il Gattopardo, forever immortalizing its beauty in cinema.
A few kilometers to the east lies Portopalo di Capo Passero, whose lighthouse marks the southernmost point of Italy. Just before that, the picturesque village of Marzamemi offers a timeless atmosphere, with its golden stone houses, squares overlooking the sea, and restaurants filled with tradition.
Moving westward, not far away, is the port of Pozzallo, from where you can reach Malta in about 90 minutes by hydrofoil.
Just 20 minutes north is Noto, a true gem of Sicilian Baroque. Its elegant streets, golden façades of palaces and churches, and scenic staircases create a timeless atmosphere. Strolling along its main street, you'll be captivated by the harmony of the architecture and the refined air of a city that tells centuries of history and culture.
Continuing north, about 40 minutes away, you'll reach Syracuse, one of the most fascinating cities in Sicily, where Greek and Baroque history blend into a unique landscape, between the charm of Ortigia and the grandeur of the Greek Theatre.
The area surrounding Baia L’Aura is also known for its UNESCO World Heritage cities, such as Modica, Scicli, and Ragusa, easily accessible by car. These jewels of Sicilian Baroque, with their majestic churches, richly decorated palaces, and history-filled alleys, offer a journey through art, culture, and traditions that make this part of Sicily a unique and timeless place.
